The Mobiky Genius is a very clever little bike with it's quirky design incorporating some very clever features.
The first thing you notice about the bike is that the wheels are very small, so this isn't a bike that you would use for long distances, but the strength of the small wheel is it allows the bike to be folded into a very compact size (just 61 x 34 x 81 cm's) making it ideal for city use, being very easy to manage on public transport, and easily storable, be it in a cupboard, boot, boat or camper.
Folding takes approx 3 seconds once familiar with the process, and in its folded state the ease of handling is aided by a carry handle integrated into the design, something which you may think should be obvious in a bike designed to be carried, but oddly is a fairly unique feature amongst folding bikes.
An aluminium frame makes for an impressively lightweight bike (13.5kg) and the general construction of the bike is very impressive, with all the frame components being well made and put together.
A 3 speed hub gear operated by a twist grip shifter keeps you rolling along comfortably, while a mini disk brake brings you to a reliable stop again. Adjustable saddle and handle bar height makes this bike well suited to children over 8 and smaller adults, with the same adjustability allowing a rider's up to about 5'11 being able to ride the bike comfortably. Maximum recommended rider weight is listed as 245 lbs.
Several colour options are available, so your hardest decision is probably which to choose.....should it be the funky green, orange, red or two shades of blue?
