Dahon Vitesse D5 2007

The Vitesse D5 is intended for the urban commuter. They need a bike with a simple hub gear, but with more than 3 gears, so the Vitesse has a sturdy Sturmey 5 speed hub gear with easy to use twist grip shifter. It mustn’t look to flashy as there are plenty of magpies out there (with bolt croppers) so Dahon have gone for a stealthy black paint job to go unnoticed when you have the bike locked up. Anything else for the urban commuter?
Well yes actually, there’s a chainguard to stop you getting your skirt or trousers stuck in the chain, Dahons new super sturdy handle bar stem which is now height adjustable for 2007, a set of alloy wheels, folding pedals and alloy componentry to keep the weight down to a respectable 11.9kgs (26.2lbs).
