Dahon claim that the “Roo EL is the worlds lightest, most portable and functional electric bike”. It’s certainly extremely practical for those looking for a bit more oomph, and is a favourite amongst caravaners and boaters who are looking for a practical and simple aid to get to the shops at the end of an exhausting days work!
The Roo unfolds in about 15 seconds ready to go, and Dahon say that it’s ‘Sram Sparc’ motor is capable of up to 50km, although this is very dependant upon terrain, and the input from the rider so we would recommend that this in reality you should expect a little less. The lightweight Nihm battery keeps the weight down, and although heavier than a standard Dahon folding bike at 17 kilo’s (37.6lbs) the electrical assistance should more than counteract this.
