The Dahon Cadenza is a fantastically versatile bicycle. The light weight alloy frame is designed to be customisable, with features such as a eccentric bottom bracket allowing the fitment of a single speed hub or hub gear if desired; compatibility with V, disc or caliper brakes; tyre clearance of anything up to 2.25" and all the eyelets for racks and mudguards etc for all those practical accessories that you may wish to fit. This offers the opportunity to truly customise the bike to suit your requirements perfectly, or just make use of all those parts that you may have tucked away in the shed waiting for that perfect bicycle to fit them too.
If the opportunity for customisation doesn't interest you then the Cadenza still offers fantastic value for money as an off the peg bike ready to ride.
A light weight aluminium frame with understated good looks is the perfect base for the quality component package that Dahon provide as standard. 16 speed derailleur gears offer a suitable range for the commute or recreational riding; powerful mountain bike style V-brakes will bring you to a sure and reliable stop every time; and the all alloy black finished wheel set is superbly complemented by Continental's slick Sport Contact tyre's.
The folding mechanism works slightly differently to Dahon's other folding bike models, in the respect that the main frame hinge is not operated by a lever, but actually by an allen key fixing in the frame. This allows for a much smaller clamp without any loss of strength, which is what allows Dahon to give the Cadenza a very 'conventional' look to the frame so an unknowing eye you would not know that it was a folding bike at all!
If you're used to riding a knobbly tyred mountain bike around town the Cadenza will be a delight to ride, perhaps a revelation. With the added advantage of being able to fold the bike quickly to jump on a bus or train, take it safely with you into a cafe, or simply for easy storage at home the Cadenza is a true go anywhere do anything bicycle.
