Brompton M6L AVC
For those that want a few more gears than the 3 speed, enter the M6L.
It's worth noting that the 6 speed does not double the range, but adds 2 of the extra gears within the existing range, meaning that you can fine tune a more comfortable pedaling speed than the 3 speed can provide, as well as having 1 extra lower gear to help you up the hills.
Kevlar tyres are fitted as standard, which greatly improves puncture resistance and peace of mind, while dual pivot brakes make a difference to the stopping power. The combined total of these upgrades is less than £15, yet we feel are worth every penny which is why we have made this simple upgrade standard on all of our custom specified bikes.
Bike Options
Brompton have a range of colour's available for their standard bikes, most of which carry a surcharge.
So we can maintain a reliable stock to allow us to dispatch a bike to you without delay we choose to order all of our AVC bikes in black. This is one of Brompton's standard colour's so is not subject to an additional charge, and has always been a favorite option given it's classic, sleek understated appeal.

Tyre Options
All of our Bromptons come fitted with Brompton Kevlar tyres for their improved puncture resistance, although there are other options that we can also recommend.
Puncture resistant and fast rolling, the Schwalbe Marathon features a slightly deeper tread pattern than that of the Brompton tyre, so can be better for looser surfaces such as tow paths or forestry paths.
Alternatively if you fancy yourself as a bit of a racing snake then the Schwalbe Stelvio is a high pressure road only tyre that will have you leaning into those corners and racing off the lights, although the added performance does mean a sacrifice in puncture resistance.

Gear options
Whether you need lowered gearing very much depends on the environment in which you will be using the bike. Basically, if you lower the gearing it makes it easier to ride up hills, but because all the gears are lowered this does mean that you will be spinning the pedals quicker on the flat, so you may lose some of your top end speed.
There are two gearing options available that will provide you with either a higher, or lower gear. An 18% lower gear for climbing, or a gear which is 8% higher than standard. This will increase your top end speed, but at the cost of loosing some of the bikes hill climbing ability.
Pannier Options
The Pannier options provide a simple and convenient solution to carrying luggage on your Brompton.
The panniers mount via the carrier block which is fitted on to the front of the bicycle. Simply click the bag in place, and use the quick release catch to remove.
Optional shoulder strap for off the bike convenience and a bright yellow rain cover will keep everything clean and dry and help make you more visible in the traffic.

Light Options
Your Brompton bike will come with reflectors fitted front and rear as standard, if you want to use your bike at night then a set of the compact custom fitting Brompton LED lights will help to keep you seen. The lights do not affect the folded size of the bike whatsoever, and added weight is negligible.
Seat Pin Options
All our Bromptons will be delivered with the standard steel seat pin fitted, if you need a little extra saddle height select the extended steel seat pin at no extra charge. The telescopic seat pin will offer the maximum height for those that require it.
If you would like something lighter weight then the Titanium seat pin is what you need , available in the same alternative sizing options as the standard seat pin.
The saddle adapter pin will allow shorter riders to get a position a bit closer to the bars to avoid having to stretch, or for those that prefer a very upright position.

Saddle Options
The Brompton comes fitted with a standard foam saddle. However saddles are a subjective thing so we like to offer you some options if you would like to customise your ride. Choose from the traditional Brooks leather saddles marked with the Brompton logo, a gender specific ergonomically designed saddle or the light weight Fizik Vitesse.
All saddles include the cost of Brompton's Pentaclip (£17.75) which is necessary to fit the saddle onto the Brompton seat post.

Carry Bags
The Brompton 'Cover and Saddle Bag' is a simple cover that pulls down over the bike to stop you getting your cloths dirty while carrying the bike, when not in use it tucks away easily in it's own carry pouch below the saddle. For carrying your Brompton farther afield, take a look at the carry bags, alternatively for maximum protection the hard case only requires the removal of the saddle for a snug and secure fit.

Security Options
Although you should be able to take your Brompton with you where ever you go, it does hurt to have a lock handy just in case. A coil lock offers light weight and convenience, while a D-lock offers a greater degree of security. Please note that due to the Brompton's unique frame, it is not possible to attach the lock onto the bike for storage when not in use.

Handle Bar Options
Bar ends offer an alternative hand position and allow a wider longer reach for those that need it, they make no difference to the folded size and with the extra leverage they really do make it easier to ride your bike uphill as well!
