The Moulton Bridgestone now features a double chainring, so extending the versatility of this already very capable bicycle.
Now produced in Japan, the Bridgestone is based on the original Moulton design originaly launched during 1962. . The suspension offers the plush well balanced ride we have come to expect from Dr Moulton. Up front the spring/elastomer telescopic suspension unit mounted inside the steerer in typical Moulton fashion, while at the back the rubber spring provides a low tech but effective solution to taking the bumps out the rear end.This combination provides an extremely subtle ride, which some Bridgestone owners have claimed is equal to that of the more expensive New Series.  
If you need to carry this bike on a train, bus, coach, plane or stuff it into your boot then splitting it in two makes life so much easier. To start with, you have two halves of a bike to carry rather than one big lump. There's also the fact that one piece can be stowed in different area to the other of added convenience. The split does not compromise the ride as the joint is a highly precise design, fixed in place with a large Allen bolt. The cables are split using tried and tested Moulton connectors that leave gears and brakes precisely as they were before the split takes place. A handy pair of carry bags takes care of the two halves in transit or storage. The separable comes with flat handle bars mounted on an adjustable stem to give a variety of riding positions. The gear shifter is a road version of the classic 'Rapid-fire' shifter Shimano has used to capture the off-road market with its response and durability.
