Birdy Rohloff
The Birdy Rohloff is all about the amazing Rohloff hub gear which has 14-speeds giving a huge range - equivalent to a conventional 21-speed mountain bike. The indexing is controlled inside the hub which means you don't get the usual problems associated with poorly set up gears and sticky gear cables.
Originally designed for Downhill MTB Racing, the Rohloff has been adopted by recreational cyclist commuters and long distance tourers because of its efficient bomb proof design and longevity.

Tyre Options
Birdy bicycles come with the quality semi slick Marathon Racer Kevlar fitted as standard, however other options are available. The knobbly off road tyre is available as a free alternative. If on road performance is your priority, then the lightweight Schwalbe Stelvio 'Speed' tyre should fulfil your expectations.
Carrier Rack Options
Take the kitchen sink with you if you want too.
With the combination of the front low rider rack, and the expedition rack on the rear there's no reason why you shouldn't pack every thing you need. The presence of the racks make no difference to the folded size, and the rear rack actually helps support the bike upright in its folded state. If the rear rack is to be used with panniers, you must use it in combination with the mudguards to provide the side support for the bags.
Pannier Options
If you just need some where to put your keys and coins then the custom made Birdy frame bag provides just this. An altura rack pack will provide enough space to fit in that bit extra and doubles up conveniently as a shoulder bag off the bike. To take full advantage of the Birdy's load carrying ability, opt for Ortlieb's quality 100% water proof panniers.

Light Options
We offer a choice of light packages to care for all needs. The Cat eye set will get you seen, the Light in Motion set uses their excellent 'Commuter' light up front to really see where your going, and Cateye's top of the range light bringing up the rear. For those that prefer them, we also have the Birdy dynamo light set, but please note that this can only be fitted in conjunction with the rear Expedition carrier.

Carry Bag Options
or every day convenience the Birdy cover enables you to cover the bike in it's folded state to stop your cloths getting dirty when carrying the bike. When not in use it tucks back into it's own neat little bag which can be clipped onto the bike. The ruck sack bag can be carried on your back and used to carry items as its name would suggest, the trick is that when off the bike, it will open out to a bag large enough to carry the whole bike via a shoulder strap or carry handles. Very clever!
If you plan to fly or travel with your Birdy, the Hard Case provides the security and protection you need to prevent your bike being damaged.

Security Options
Although you should be able to take your Birdy with you where ever you go, it does hurt to have a lock handy just in case. A coil lock offers light weight and convenience, while a D-lock offers a greater degree of security. Please note that due to the Birdy's unique frame, it is not possible to attach the lock onto the bike for storage when not in use.
