Knobbly tread is better suited to rougher off-road conditions, as is the heavy duty tyre casing for maximum puncture resistance.
Because of their larger profile, these tyres will not fit a bike with the standard Airnimal mudguards. They can be fitted in conjunction with the 'SKS Race blade' guards, but for safety we would generally advise against trying to mix knobbly tyres with guards that hug the tyre.
